Access and Run a Registry Editor
On occasion, you may need to make changes to Geo SCADA Expert's settings directly in the registry in Windows®. The settings are stored in a small section of the registry, clearly marked as 'Geo SCADA Expert'. Many of Geo SCADA Expert server’s settings are configurable using the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration Tool. For other Geo SCADA Expert settings, you may have to use a Registry Editor, such as Regedit. This topic provides guidelines on how to access Regedit. The means by which you access the Registry Editor varies, depending on the operating system. For operating systems not mentioned in this topic, please refer to your Windows documentation.
Windows 10
To access the Registry Editor:
- In the Search box next to the Start menu in Windows®, enter the text regedit and then press the Enter key.
- Select the Registry Editor application.
The Registry Editor is displayed.

INOPERABLE DEVICE
Take care when using a Registry Editor to change Geo SCADA Expert's registry settings. Check whether the settings are configurable using a Geo SCADA Expert
application, such as the Server Configuration Tool, and if so, use that tool rather than a Registry Editor. Do not alter other Geo SCADA Expert registry settings without expert advice from Schneider Electric.
Failure to follow these instructions could critically affect system or computer operation. Restoration of the previous registry settings may be required.
